Sankt Veit im Pongau is a market town in the St. Johann im Pongau district, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It lies in the Pongau region of the eastern Alps.
The town is noted as the first healthy climate spa town in Salzburg. Below the Hochglocker mountain stands a sanatorium founded in 1912, which gave the community its spa reputation.
The Austrian author Thomas Bernhard was treated at that clinic, and he later wrote a book about his time there.
