Sankt Johann im Pongau is a town in the state of Salzburg, Austria. It is the administrative centre of the St. Johann im Pongau District.
The town lies in the Pongau region of Salzburg, in the valley of the Salzach river, in the eastern Alps of Austria. It is the seat of the district administration for the surrounding area.
Sankt Johann im Pongau is also known as a winter sports destination, with the Snow Space Salzburg ski area linking it to the neighbouring towns of Wagrain and Alpendorf.
