Oberndorf bei Salzburg is a small city located in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is situated within the Flachgau district and lies on the banks of the Salzach river.
The settlement is positioned approximately 17 kilometers (11 miles) north of the City of Salzburg. The municipality was officially granted town privileges on April 30, 2001.
