Anif is a municipality in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It lies in the Salzburg region of Austria, just south of the city of Salzburg, near the Austrian-German border.
The municipality is best known for Schloss Anif, a castle set beside a small artificial lake, the Anifer See. The castle and its grounds are among the area's most recognizable landmarks.
Anif is also home to a wildlife park, the Salzburger Freilichtmuseum's neighboring attractions aside, and it functions largely as a residential community within the Salzburg metropolitan area.
