Schlatt is a municipality in the district of Vöcklabruck, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It lies in the Hausruckviertel region of the state, the area of Upper Austria named for the Hausruck hill range that runs through it.
As a municipality, Schlatt is one of the local administrative units that make up the Vöcklabruck district, which occupies the southwestern part of Upper Austria between the Hausruck hills and the foothills of the Alps. The district's administrative centre is the town of Vöcklabruck.
Upper Austria is one of the nine federal states of Austria, with its capital at Linz. The state borders Germany and the Czech Republic to the north and is drained chiefly by the Danube and its tributaries, including the Traun, which flows through the Vöcklabruck area.
