Sankt Lorenz is a municipality in the district of Vöcklabruck, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It lies in the Hausruckviertel region of the state, within the Alpine foothills east of the Attersee lake.
The municipality is administratively part of the Vöcklabruck district, one of the districts that make up Upper Austria. Like other Austrian municipalities, it functions as a local government unit responsible for its own communal affairs within the state and federal structure.
Sankt Lorenz should not be confused with other places bearing the same name, including Sankt Lorenz in Germany and the various churches and parishes dedicated to Saint Lawrence. Its identity as a distinct municipality rests on its position within the Vöcklabruck district of Upper Austria.
