Pregarten is a municipality in the district of Freistadt, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It is located in the Mühlviertel region of the country, north of the city of Linz and near the border with the Czech Republic.
Like other municipalities in the Freistadt district, Pregarten is administered as a single local government unit that may include several smaller settlements and surrounding rural areas alongside its main town. The Freistadt district lies in the northern part of Upper Austria.
