Hellmonsödt is a municipality in the district of Urfahr-Umgebung, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It lies in the Mühlviertel region of the country, north of the city of Linz.
The settlement is a small community typical of the rural municipalities of the Mühlviertel, a granite highland area that forms part of the Bohemian Massif. The surrounding landscape is characterised by rolling hills, farmland and woodland.
As a municipality, Hellmonsödt serves as a local administrative unit covering the town itself and its outlying hamlets. It is one of the communities that make up the Urfahr-Umgebung district, which surrounds Linz on its northern side.
