Fornach is a municipality in the district of Vöcklabruck, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It is a small rural community located in the Hausruckviertel region of the state, roughly midway between the towns of Vöcklamarkt and Frankenburg am Hausruck.
Like other municipalities in the Vöcklabruck district, Fornach is administered as a single local government unit that may include several small settlements and hamlets rather than one densely built town centre. The surrounding landscape is typical of the Alpine foothills of Upper Austria, consisting of rolling hills, farmland and woodland.
Fornach's most notable characteristics are its status as an independent municipality within one of Upper Austria's larger districts and its position in a rural, agricultural part of the state. Detailed historical, demographic and cultural information about the community is limited in readily available sources.
