Alkoven is a municipality in the district of Eferding, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. It lies in the country's northern-central region, within the federal province of Upper Austria, whose capital is Linz.
Administratively, Alkoven belongs to the Eferding district, one of the districts that make up Upper Austria. As a municipality, it is one of the local administrative units through which the district is governed.
