Wang is a municipality in the district of Scheibbs, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is one of the smaller communities within the district, situated in the western part of Lower Austria, a region known as the Mostviertel.
Like other municipalities in the Scheibbs district, Wang is a rural community organised around local administration and the surrounding countryside. The district of Scheibbs lies in the foothills of the Alps, and its municipalities are typically small, dispersed settlements rather than large urban centres.
Wang is not to be confused with other places bearing the same name, including the town of Wang in Bavaria, Germany, or Wang in Switzerland. The Austrian Wang is a distinct municipality within Lower Austria.
