Vitis is a town in the district of Waidhofen an der Thaya, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It lies in the northwestern part of the country, within the Waldviertel region near the border with the Czech Republic.
The town is one of several municipalities that make up the Waidhofen an der Thaya district, an area characterized by its rural landscape and small settlements. Like much of the Waldviertel, Vitis is a quiet community set among rolling hills and farmland.
