Strengberg is a town in the district of Amstetten, in the state of Lower Austria, Austria. It lies in the western part of Lower Austria, within the Mostviertel region, the area of the state south of the Danube known for its rolling hills and agricultural landscape.
The municipality is made up of several small settlements and rural cadastral communities rather than a single dense urban centre, which is typical of this part of Lower Austria. Its position in the Amstetten district places it within a region that stretches from the Danube valley south toward the foothills of the Alps.
Strengberg is primarily a residential and agricultural community. Like much of the surrounding Mostviertel, the area is associated with farming, including the fruit growing and cider production for which the region is known. The town is connected to the wider region by road and lies within reach of the district capital, Amstetten, and the nearby city of Linz to the west.
