Randegg

Austria

Randegg is a municipality in the district of Scheibbs, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is located in the western part of Lower Austria, in a region known as the Mostviertel.

The area around Randegg is characterized by a hilly landscape and is part of the Eisenwurzen, a historical region spanning parts of Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Styria. The municipality is made up of several small settlements and rural hamlets rather than a single dense urban centre.

Randegg is known for its castle, Schloss Randegg, which stands on a hill above the village and has medieval origins. The surrounding countryside is used mainly for agriculture and forestry, with meadows, farmland and wooded hills typical of the pre-Alpine terrain of this part of Lower Austria.
