Markgrafneusiedl

Austria

Markgrafneusiedl is a town in the district of Gänserndorf, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It lies in the Marchfeld, the flat plain east of Vienna that stretches toward the March (Morava) river and the Slovak border.

The settlement is one of the municipalities that make up the Gänserndorf district, the administrative unit covering the northeastern corner of Lower Austria. The surrounding countryside is agricultural, and the town sits within easy reach of Vienna, roughly 25 kilometres to the west.

Markgrafneusiedl is best known for its parish church, a baroque building that forms the historic centre of the small community. The town retains the compact layout typical of the region's villages, with the church and a few historic structures clustered along its main street.
