Kottingbrunn

Austria

Kottingbrunn is a town in the district of Baden, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It lies in the eastern part of the country, within the Vienna Basin south of Vienna, in a region historically known as the Industrieviertel (Industrial Quarter).

The town is perhaps best known for Kottingbrunn Castle (Schloss Kottingbrunn), a moated castle whose origins date to the Middle Ages and which today houses municipal offices and cultural facilities. The surrounding area is also associated with the Thermenregion wine-growing district and the broader Baden spa region.

Kottingbrunn is connected to the wider region by road and by the Südbahn railway line, which links it with Vienna and Wiener Neustadt. Its proximity to Baden and to the southern outskirts of Vienna makes it part of the capital's broader commuter belt.
