Hollenstein an der Ybbs is a municipality in the district of Amstetten, in the state of Lower Austria, Austria.
It lies in the western part of Lower Austria, in the Ybbs river valley, from which it takes the second part of its name. The surrounding area is part of the foothills of the Alps, and the municipality consists of a small main village together with scattered hamlets and farmsteads typical of this rural region.
As a municipality in the Amstetten district, it forms part of the administrative structure of Lower Austria and is one of the smaller communities in the district. Its economy and character are largely rural, shaped by its location in the Ybbs valley.
