Hauskirchen

Austria

Hauskirchen is a town in the district of Gänserndorf, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It lies in the Weinviertel, the northeastern quarter of the country, a region of low hills and farmland that stretches toward the Czech and Slovak borders.

The municipality is one of the smaller communities of the Gänserndorf district, which occupies the eastern part of Lower Austria between Vienna and the March (Morava) river. Like much of the surrounding area, Hauskirchen is a rural settlement whose character is shaped by agriculture and by its position within the wider commuter and economic orbit of the Vienna metropolitan region.

Administratively, the town belongs to the district of Gänserndorf and thus to the state of Lower Austria, the country's largest federal province by area, whose capital is Sankt Pölten. The district itself is named for the town of Gänserndorf, its administrative seat.
