Gross-Schweinbarth

Austria

Gross-Schweinbarth (also written Groß-Schweinbarth) is a town in the district of Gänserndorf, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria.

It lies in the Weinviertel, the wine-growing region of northeastern Lower Austria, in the rolling countryside north of Vienna and within the Gänserndorf district, which occupies the northeastern corner of the state bordering the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The town is one of a number of small municipalities that make up this largely rural district.

Like many settlements in the region, it is a small community whose character is shaped by its agricultural surroundings and its position within the Weinviertel's wine-producing landscape. Detailed historical, demographic, and cultural information about the town is limited in readily available sources.
