Grafenegg is a market town, or municipality, in the Krems-Land district of Lower Austria, Austria. It lies in the northeastern part of the country, within the federal state of Lower Austria, the region surrounding the Danube west of Vienna.
As a market town, Grafenegg holds a status in Austrian municipal organization that is distinct from an ordinary village, though it remains a small community within the Krems-Land district. The district itself is part of the Waldviertel area of Lower Austria.
Beyond its administrative identity, Grafenegg is best known for Grafenegg Castle and its associated park, which serve as a cultural venue and are the town's principal point of recognition.
