Auersthal

Austria

Auersthal is a town in the district of Gänserndorf, in the state of Lower Austria, Austria. It lies in the Weinviertel region of northeastern Austria, north of Vienna and within the Marchfeld plain that stretches toward the Morava (March) river and the Slovak border.

The municipality is one of the smaller communities of the Gänserndorf district, a largely agricultural area of Lower Austria characterised by farmland, vineyards and small market towns. Like much of the Weinviertel, the surrounding landscape is gently rolling and predominantly rural.

Auersthal is connected to the regional road and rail network serving the Gänserndorf district, which links the area with Vienna and the wider Weinviertel. Its administrative identity is defined by its status as an independent municipality within the district.
