Poggersdorf is a municipality in the district of Klagenfurt-Land, in the Austrian federal state of Carinthia. Since 2013 it has held the status of a so-called Market Municipality (Marktgemeinde).
It is located in southern Austria, within the Klagenfurt-Land district, which surrounds the city of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. As a Market Municipality, Poggersdorf belongs to a category of Austrian towns that historically received the right to hold markets, a designation that distinguishes it within the local administrative structure of Carinthia.
