Perito Moreno is a town in the northwest of Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, situated about 25 km east of Lake Buenos Aires. It is the capital of the Lago Buenos Aires Department. The town should not be confused with the Perito Moreno National Park, located more than 300 km south by road, or with the Perito Moreno Glacier near El Calafate.
The town lies on the RN43, a paved road that links Caleta Olivia on the Atlantic coast to Los Antiguos and the Chilean frontier 60 km to the west. It also connects with Ruta 40, which runs north and south through the region.
