Paso de los Libres is a city located in the eastern part of the province of Corrientes within the Argentine Mesopotamia region. It serves as the head town for the department of the same name and had an estimated population of 44,000 inhabitants according to the 2010 census.
The city is situated on the western shore of the Uruguay River. It sits directly opposite the Brazilian city of Uruguaiana in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The two locations are connected by both a road and a railway bridge crossing the river. Additionally, the area is served by Paso de los Libres Airport.
