Chumbicha

Argentina

Chumbicha is a town and municipality in Catamarca Province, in northwestern Argentina. It is one of the many small settlements that make up the province's municipal structure, administered locally as a municipality rather than as part of a larger urban centre.

The town lies in Catamarca Province, a jurisdiction in Argentina's northwest that is bordered by other Argentine provinces and, to the west, by Chile. This places Chumbicha within the broader Andean and pre-Andean region of the country, a part of Argentina known for its arid landscapes and relatively low population density compared with the country's central and coastal areas.

As a municipality, Chumbicha has its own local government and serves as a minor administrative and population centre for its surrounding area. It is not among Argentina's large cities; like many towns in Catamarca, it functions as a small community within a predominantly rural province.
