Magdalena is a town in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It serves as the administrative headquarters, or cabecera, of Magdalena Partido, the surrounding district of the same name.
The town is located in the northeastern part of Buenos Aires Province, near the coast of the Río de la Plata, roughly 90 kilometres southeast of the city of Buenos Aires. As the seat of its partido, it houses the local government offices that administer the district.
Magdalena is one of the older settlements in the province, dating to the colonial period, and retains a quiet, small-town character centred on its plaza and parish church. It remains primarily a local administrative and service centre for the surrounding agricultural area rather than a major tourist destination.
