Wangala

Zambia

Wangala is a harvest festival also known as the festival of "The Hundred Drums." It is primarily celebrated by the Garo tribe, who reside in regions including Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Assam in India, as well as Greater Mymensingh in Bangladesh.

The festival serves as a post-harvest celebration where people give thanks to Misi Saljong, the sun god, for providing a rich harvest. Wangala is observed between the months of September and December, with specific dates varying by village.
