Chiengi

Zambia

Chiengi is a settlement located in the Luapula Province of Zambia. It serves as the headquarters of the Chiengi District and holds historical significance as a former colonial boma of the British Empire in central Africa.

The settlement is situated in the north-east corner of Lake Mweru, positioned at the foot of wooded hills that separate it from Lake Mweru Wantipa. It overlooks a dambo extending northward from the lake, where the Chiengi rivulet flows down from the surrounding hills.
