Mongu is a city located in Zambia that serves as the capital of the Western Province. It functions as the administrative headquarters for the Mongu District and has a population of 179,585.

Historically, the city was the capital of the historic state of Barotseland, which was formerly known by that name. It is also recognized as the home of the Litunga, who is the King of the Lozi people.
