Wittenberg, officially known as Lutherstadt Wittenberg, is the fourth-largest town in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is located on the River Elbe, situated approximately 60 kilometers north of Leipzig and 90 kilometers southwest of Berlin.
As of 2018, the town had a population of 46,008 residents. The city serves as a significant geographical point within the region of eastern Germany.
