Vredenburg is a town situated in the Western Cape province of South Africa, specifically along the Cape West Coast. It is located approximately 138 kilometres north of Cape Town on the Cape Columbine Peninsula, positioned about 12 kilometres inland from the coast at Saldanha Bay.
The town serves as the primary transportation and commercial hub for the West Coast region and functions as the administrative centre of the Saldanha Bay Local Municipality. Its name is derived from the Afrikaans word "Vrede," which translates to peace.
