Plettenberg Bay

Plettenberg Bay, commonly referred to by the nickname Plett, is a town located in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. It serves as the primary town within the Bitou Local Municipality and is situated along the country's Garden Route. The town is positioned approximately 210 km from Port Elizabeth and about 600 km from Cape Town.

Historically, early Portuguese explorers named the area Bahia Formosa before it became known by its current name. According to the 2001 census, Plettenberg Bay had a recorded population of 29,149 residents.
