Dysselsdorp is a small town located in the Little Karoo region of South Africa. It is situated between the towns of Oudtshoorn and De Rust, falling within two wards of the Oudtshoorn Local Municipality.
Founded in 1838 as a missionary station for dispossessed Khoekhoen and emancipated slaves, the town currently has a population of 12,544 people. It is characterized as a predominantly Afrikaans-speaking coloured community where the majority of residents are employed in the agricultural industry or work in nearby Oudtshoorn.
Since 1996, Dysselsdorp has served as a case study for various agricultural reform programmes.
