Beaufort West is a town located in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It serves as the largest town within the arid Great Karoo region and is frequently referred to by the title "Capital of the Karoo."
The town forms part of the Beaufort West Local Municipality. As of the 2011 census, it had a population of 34,085 inhabitants.
