Stilfontein is a former mining town situated in the North West Province of South Africa. It is located along the N12 highway, positioned between the towns of Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom. As of recent records, the town has a population of 17,942 inhabitants.
The town was incorporated into the City of Matlosana. While it remains a distinct locality, some of its municipal administration is conducted in Klerksdorp.
