Potchefstroom, colloquially known as Potch, is an academic city located in the North West Province of South Africa. It is situated on the Mooi River, approximately 120 km west-southwest of Johannesburg and 45 km east-northeast of Klerksdorp.
The city is primarily recognized for hosting the Potchefstroom Campus of North-West University.
