Mbombela, formerly known as Nelspruit, is a city located in northeastern South Africa. It serves as the capital of the Mpumalanga province and is situated on the Crocodile River.
The city is positioned approximately 110 km west of the Mozambique border by road, 330 km east of Johannesburg, and 82 km north of the Eswatini border. Mbombela was notably one of the host cities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
