Vereeniging is a city located in the southern part of the Gauteng province in South Africa. It is situated at the point where the Klip River empties into the northern loop of the Vaal River and serves as one of the constituent parts of the Vaal Triangle region.
Historically, the city was situated within the Transvaal province. Its name is derived from the Dutch word for "association," though the modern spelling has been updated to vereniging with a single "e".
