Soshanguve is a township located in Gauteng, South Africa. It is situated approximately 30 km north of Pretoria and lies just east of Mabopane.
The name Soshanguve serves as an acronym for the Sotho, Shangaan, Nguni, and Venda languages, reflecting the multi-ethnic composition of its population. Consequently, the major African languages of South Africa are commonly heard within the township.
