Roodepoort is a city situated in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It was formerly an independent municipality before being incorporated into the Johannesburg municipality during the late 1990s, alongside the areas of Randburg and Sandton.
The city is home to several notable landmarks, including the Witwatersrand National Botanical Gardens. This site is recognized as one of the most famous botanical gardens in Johannesburg.
