Qonce, formerly known as King William's Town, is a town located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is situated along the banks of the Buffalo River and lies approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of the Indian Ocean port of East London.
The town has a population of around 35,000 inhabitants and serves as part of the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. It is primarily recognized for its geographic position within the Eastern Cape region and its administrative role within the municipality.
