Zastron is a small agricultural town located in the Free State province of South Africa. It is situated approximately 30 km from the border of Lesotho and lies at the foot of Aasvoëlberg.
The town is notable for its connection to rare Cape vultures, which are attracted to a feeding project located a short distance outside the settlement. This association is reflected in the name of the local township, Matlakeng, which translates to "Vultures" in Sesotho. Additionally, a unique rock formation in the mountain known as Die Oog serves as the town's unofficial emblem.
