Ladybrand is a small agricultural town located in the Free State province of South Africa. It is situated approximately 18 km from Maseru, which serves as the capital city of Lesotho.
Founded in 1867 following the Basotho Wars, the town was named in honor of Lady (Catharina) Brand, the mother of Johannes Brand, who served as the president of the Orange Free State. Today, Ladybrand is one of five towns that comprise the Mantsopa Local Municipality.
