Margate is a seaside town situated in the Thanet District of Kent, England. Located on the north coast of the county, the town covers an area approximately two miles long and sits roughly 16 miles north-east of Canterbury.
The town includes several distinct areas, such as Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay, and Westbrook. As of 2011, Margate had a recorded population of 61,223 residents.
