Sanaa

Yemen

Sanaa, officially known as the Sanaa Municipality, is the capital and largest city of Yemen. It serves as the capital of the Sanaa Governorate, although it functions as a separate administrative unit rather than being part of the governorate itself.

Situated at an elevation of 2,300 metres (7,500 ft), Sanaa is recognized as the seventh highest capital city in the world. The city is located adjacent to the Sarawat Mountains, specifically Jabal An-Nabi Shu'ayb and Jabal Tiyal, which are considered among the highest mountains in the Arabian Peninsula and one of the highest in the Middle East.
