Safune is a traditional village district located on the central north coast of Savai'i island in Samoa. It falls within the electoral constituency of Gaga'ifomauga.
The area is notable for its historical and cultural significance, serving as the birthplace of Mau leader Olaf Frederick Nelson. It also served as the filming location for Moana, which is recognized as one of the first documentaries ever produced in the world.
Additionally, Safune is home to the Mata o le Alelo pool. This site is associated with the Polynesian legend of Sina and the Eel.
