Vaitupu is the largest atoll in the nation of Tuvalu. It is located in the Pacific Ocean at approximately 7.48 degrees south and 178.83 degrees east.
The atoll covers a total area of 5.6 square kilometres and serves as a residential area for a population of 1,077 people. The primary village located on the atoll is Asau.
