Wawo is a city located in the country of Vanuatu. It is situated within the broader geographic region of the Pacific Islands.
The name wawo is also used as a common local designation for Palola viridis, a species of Polychaeta known as the palolo worm. This marine organism is found in the waters surrounding several Pacific islands, including Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and the maritime Southeast Asian islands.
