Oc Eo

Vietnam

Óc Eo is an archaeological site located in the Óc Eo commune of Thoại Sơn District in An Giang Province, situated within the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam.

The site served as a prominent and busy port for the kingdom of Funan from approximately the 2nd century BC until the 12th century AD. Historical evidence suggests that Óc Eo may be the same port identified by Greek and Roman sources as Cattigara.
