Chợ Lớn, commonly anglicized as Cholon, is an unofficial quarter located within Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Historically, it functioned as a city separate from Sài Gòn until its urbanization occurred between the 1930s and 1950s.
The area has long been inhabited by Chinese people and is recognized as the largest Chinatown in the world when measured by area.
